It may be raining outside, but it's SKY BLUE on the wireless

Weds 7pm, repeated Friday 4pm

Harry & Edna on the Wireless were chuffed to be joined by 1940s vocalist, musician and serving member of our armed forces, Miss Sarah Birch.

When the Band of the RAF Regiment celebrated the 70th anniversary of its formation the band ‘Sky Blue’ featuring Miss Sarah Jane was created.

On the show Sarah talked about ‘SkyBlue’ the newly formed small ensemble within The Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment.

The group perform the music of the 1940’s and included in their repertoire are many hits by the Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller and even a few wartime sing alongs!

The groups members are SAC Sarah Birch (vocals and clarinet), Flight Sergeant Steve McGuiness (Piano) SAC Andy Taylor (Double Bass) and Chief Technician Ian Harding (Drums).

Harry & Edna were pleased for SAC Sarah Birch to broadcast some of the groups repertoire on Secklow Sounds and also spoke about RAF Music services.
