A true SPECTRE-cal...

Lifestyle MK was delighted to speak with Film Critic and Journalist, Tremayne Miller about the newest film in the Bond cannon:

BOND star Daniel Craig returns to our cinematic screens next week in the 24th 007 film Spectre.
Before a Spectre preview in central London last night, Daniel recorded a radio interview with Nick Grimshaw — and revealed that director Sam Mendes was still making emergency edits to Spectre.’
In the interview aired today on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, he said: “Sam finished editing the movie on Saturday, which is the wettest print — because we release next Monday.”
‘He added: “However long it takes to shoot 30 seconds, which can be a day, we have to have one suit for that day, one suit for the next day.
“Every stage of the fight has a different suit. We can get through 30 suits for one sequence.”
He went on to reveal that he had to completely give up on family life while shooting the movie.
He said: “I’m away from home for eight months so you have to. There’s no other way of doing it. My family hate me. They’re just starting to forgive me now.”’

We all scream for ice-cream!

Ever wondered why a Knickerbocker glory is so named?

On this week’s Harry & Edna on the Wireless, the vintage duo where joined by local ice cream manufacturers and retailers, Gallones (see their website HERE)

On the show, the dashing duo explore the 100 year history of Gallones and learn a few interesting facts about ice cream.

As for the Knickerbocker, the name comes from Dutch settlers in New York at the start of the twentieth century. The shape of the glass resembles the outfits worn by these settlers; knee length trousers which were worn tucked in – wide at the top and tapering down at the bottom.

The Knickerbocker glory was first described in the 1930’s, and at the time contained ice cream, gelatine, cream, fruit, meringue and sometimes liquor! The tall glass allows for layers of all sorts of ice cream and hidden treats.
