THIS WEEK'S PLAYLIST SPECIALS ON SECKLOW SOUNDS...

MONDAY Oct 5th, 10AM "THE STICKS WITH TERRY SULLIVAN"  - FEATURING BILLY mitCHELL

Joining Terry Sullivan on this week’s Sticks show as his guest is Billy Mitchell of the group Lindisfarne.

Hailing originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, the group was established in 1968 and called "Brethren".  Joined by Alan Hull, they changed to Lindisfarne (an island off the coast of Northumberland).

Billy Mitchell, front man of "Jack the Lad" (which also comprised members of Lindisfarne following their first split) came in to a reformed Lindisfarne, replacing Alan Hull who'd sadly died in 1995.

Lindisfarne are best known for albums "Nicely Out of Tune" and Fog on the Tyne" and with Billy Mitchell they released studio albums "Here Comes the Neighbourhood" and "Promenade" as well as a number of live ones.

Lindisfarne finally split in May 2004, having performed a final concert at the Newcastle Opera House on 1 November 2003

The Sticks show can be heard at 10am Mondays, repeated Thursdays at noon. Tune in via the Secklow Sounds web site or via the TuneIn radio app.
